Founded by a mother–daughter duo, Maureen and Dedra, Crown & Veil Co. was born at the intersection of love, culture, and celebration.

While helping plan Dedra’s wedding, Maureen saw firsthand how overwhelming—and often exclusionary—the formalwear industry can be.

Beauty came with inflated price tags, and affordability often meant compromise. At the same time, Dedra—an accomplished pageant queen and former Ms. Black USA—knew those same pressures all too well from years spent preparing for pageants, interviews, proms, and milestone events where presentation, confidence, and elegance matter deeply.

Together, they asked a simple but powerful question:

Why should feeling beautiful feel out of reach?

With deep roots in West African heritage, where celebration, adornment, and craftsmanship are woven into life’s most important moments, Crown & Veil Co. was created as a modern reflection of tradition.
